History
Mother Nature Lure Co.has been designing and creating wooden topwater baits and surface lures for over twenty years now.. Each lure is hand assembled and hand-painted the same way lures were made a 100 years ago.
A few miles north of Orillia, Ontario sits a small creek, Shadow Creek, that connects to Lake Couchiching. Every spring this creek would flood and become a perfect breeding ground for spawning large mouth bass. After spawning season the bass would travel out of Shadow Creek towards the outskirts of Lake Couchiching where the large bass would feed on minnows, frogs and bugs. This is where the wooden waterbug lure was created more than twenty years ago.
In 1994 The Original Waterbug lure was made of pine wood and handpainted with picture frame eyescrews. The Original Waterbug was very successful catching largemouth bass and northern pike that year. After a few years of making prototypes and experimenting with topwater baits the MOTHER NATURE LURE CO. was born. Since 1996 the MOTHER NATURE LURE CO. has been creating and designing several variations of both bass and pike lures.
